FROZEN BONES MOTOR CYCLE CLUB
Constitution and Rules (Amended March 2010
1 Name
The name of the Club shall be Frozen Bones Motor Cycle Club, herein after referred to as” the Club”.
2Address
The registered address of the Club shall be that of the current or acting Chairman (refer to the Membership List for details).
3Objectives
The objectives of the Club are:
- To encourage all aspects of motorcycling.
- To foster a friendly and sociable environment throughout the membership and encourage new members.
- To produce a website and regular updates and information for all members.
- To provide an annual calendar of trips/events, which is varied and interesting to fulfil the requirements of the membership and their guests.
4Rules
These Rules and any part thereof may be amended or deleted from time to time in consultation with and the agreement of members during club meetings. Members should approach the Chairman, if he/she wishes to raise a matter concerning the club Constitution and Rules. The Chairman will raise the issue as an agenda item at the next available club meeting for discussion with those members present. Any proposed changes to the constitution must be agreed at this meeting by a majority decision. The Chairman’s will have the final casting vote.
A copy of the Club’s Rules will be available for all to see on the club website.
5Responsiblitiy of the Membership
Members have a responsibility to conduct themselves so as to uphold the good reputation of the Club and promote the goodwill of the Club and motorcycling in general, at all times.
Members attending Club events must ensure their vehicle is taxed and insured and it must be in a roadworthy condition having a current M.O.T Certificate where required.
Members must have a valid motorcycle licence to ride in the United Kingdom and must ensure that their guests are aware of these obligations when attending Club events.

A member may be deemed to have left the Club for:
- Informed the Chairman or other member they have the left the club, or
- Having brought the Club into disrepute; or
- Having endangered the life or property of another member, guest or other road user whilst on a Club event.
- In cases of b and c, members will expelled from the club following a discussion with all members at the next available club meeting and where it is agreed by the majority vote.
6 Annual Subscriptions
The Club membership year runs from 1 March until the last day in February the following year. Annual membership subscriptions are due by the end of May each year. Any member who has not paid their subscriptions by the end of May for that year will be deemed to have let their membership lapse. Should they wish to rejoin the Club from 1 June onwards they will be expected to pay a re-joining fee in addition to the annual subscription.
Any member who gives notice to leave before the end of the subscription year will not be refunded any portion of their membership fees.
Annual Membership Fees:
- Single membership – £36 for the first year and receives a Club polo shirt. £25 per year thereafter.
- Joint membership – £50 for the first year. Both parties receive a Club polo shirt. £30 per year thereafter.
- These fees applies throughout the year regardless of when joining the club.
- Free polo shirts will only be given out during the first year of joining the club.
Changes to annual membership fees and subscriptions will be agreed by all club members during the end of year AGM.
7Guests
Through its membership the Club encourages guests and visitors to attend events/trips. This will give prospective members a chance to enjoy the convivial and social scene before giving consideration to join. Guests will be permitted to attend up to two Club events. Thereafter should they wish to attend any Club functions or event they must join the Club. Members should inform their guests of this rule.
8Honorary Membership
Any member may propose that a club member is appointed honorary membership in recognition of meritorious service to the Club or to motorcycling. This will be then be discussed and voted upon during a club meeting.
9Affiliations
The Club is affiliated to the British Motorcyclists Federation (BMF). Event organisers should refer to and be familiar with the BMF guidelines when considering planning a Club event.
10Club Officers
- Will consist of the Chairman, Secretary and Treasurer.
- The officers must be current members.
- The Chairman, as agreed by club meetings at a club meeting, may co-opt another member to hold an additional post, temporary or permanent.
11Appointment and function of Club Officers
The Chairman will be expected to be in post for a minimum of two years. The other Officers will be expected to serve for a minimum period of two consecutive years.
The general running of the club will be conducted by the Chairman with advice being provided by club officers. However decision making regarding club activities and club finance will be carried out democratically through club meetings and where the majority vote will prevail. All club activities and expenditure must be agreed by a majority decision at club meetings before that activity/event progresses further.
All members are encouraged to give their opinions, make suggestions and to volunteer to organise a club event. Members’ opinions should be respected.
The Chairman will make a final decision in situations where agreement cannot be reached through discussion and/or voting.
12Donations to charities
Club members will discuss and agree by a majority decision on all matters relating to charity and donations.
13 Payment for Events requiring accommodation
1. Payments of deposits:- these will be required as soon as the event has been formally notified to all members, along with the booking slip. In the case of ride outs full payment is required, when applicable.
2. Full Payment:- this will be requested 6 weeks before the event and must be paid 4 weeks before the event.
3. Cancellations:- prior to full payment may incur loss of deposit. Cancellation after full payment will incur loss of deposit and any other expenses incurred by the Club.
